EYE–OPENING Eye injuries can occur in any work environment.. 

Most eye or skin incidents are caused by dust, dirt, metal and wood splinters, and chemicals such as oil and solvents. In these circumstances, rinsing the eye or skin with a solution of 0.9 % sterile sodium chloride will be sufficient. The isotonic solution is suitable for rinsing and cleansing the eyes or skin as a means of first aid in case of injury.

Contaminant: DIRT, DUST, METAL, WOOD, SPLINTERS 

• Action: To rinse the eyes and prevent foreign substances coming into contact with them and causing damage
• Directions: Rinse until the substance is removed, or medical help arrives.

Contaminant: OIL AND SOLVENTS 

• Action: To rinse the eyes until the unpleasant sensation is over
• Directions: Continue rinsing until you receive medical attention

Easy to use.

Step 1 - Place the casualty in a comfortable position with their head inclined, so the affected eye is lower than the other eye.

Step 2 - Pour the fluid from the inner corner of the eye outward for 10 seconds at a time, allowing the casualty to blink in between until the object is removed

Step 3 - If irrigating the eye does not work, cover the injury with a sterile eye pad dressing and seek medical attention immediately. Covering the eye will limit eye movement
